The skin is the largest organ in the body and the interface we present to the world. It has a critical role in body defences and immune function as well as important social function in terms of appearance and beauty. Approximately 15% of problems presenting in primary health care involve skin conditions. The skin is particularly prone to wear and tear and the effects of aging and UV light (such as the development of skin cancer), especially without proper care and poor lifestyle choices.

This course has been designed by medical practitioners based on new scientific knowledge in the field of skin health specifically in relation to diagnosis and management of skin agingand its effects.

This qualification is ideal for General Practitioners, Allied health professionals or those interested in related fields such as health and beauty who wish to obtain new or updated knowledge and skill related to skin health and aging and have their knowledge formally recognised and assessed towards a qualification.
